JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is split to service two areas of the company; the first is the Operations unit which includes Warehouse and Transportation. The second is the Administration business line which includes Sales/Marketing and Finance/Human Resources. The qualified candidate will support the Administration business line while the current IT Manager supports the Operations unit. At times, there will be overlap of training and support with the current IT Manager and other business lines.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility is to oversee the operation of the Administration departments from an IT perspective. The candidate will ensure the departments align with the mission and business objectives of the organization. Manage the business application for each department. This position will work with his/her counterpart to plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The candidate will work closely with decision makers in their respective business line to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:

- Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies. 
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on department needs. 
-  Oversee end-user services, including help desk and technical support services via staff or third party vendor.
- Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.
- Administers and maintains information technology systems (including PC and LAN equipment).
-  Provides IT operations functions to offices for the organization’s standard hardware, software and voice/data network solutions as well as testing to ensure software is workable before deploying to end users.
- Responsible for the purchase, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of PCs, servers, phone systems, video cameras, building security systems and LAN network connectivity equipment.
- As appropriate, provides escalated on-site support of hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
- Performs local administration and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
-  Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management.
- Provides new staff with PC/account setup and orientation and training.
- IT Support for assigned business lines as well as entire company as needed which includes after hour technical support.
- Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery. 
- Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and in accordance with established SLAs.
- Provides consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for standard systems.
- Serves as the IT point of contact and accountable for the IT portion of new office setups, office expansions, etc. This includes relocation and/or installation of voice/data communications solutions, LAN and PC equipment.
- Responsible for monitoring data backups in offices to ensure that they are completed on a regular basis.
- Oversee all phases of IT projects from conception to completion for assigned business lines.
-  Test software applications and systems by programming, debugging and working with software application vendors to accomplish goals.
- Coordinate department needs and make suggestions regarding its technical direction. 
-  Works with all third party IT vendors.
-  Consults, orders, installs and manages all IT related devices in all remote markets.
-  Performs other duties as assigned. 

The candidate should be proficient in the following hardware programs:

- Firewall administration.
- DVRs at all locations.
- LAN/WAN/Wireless Networks at all locations.
- Desktop and Cell Phones support.- 
- Copy Machine support at all locations.
- Desktop computers, scanners and Laptops. 
- Video Conferencing for users in their business line and all users at times.
- Windows Servers.

The candidate should be proficient in the following software programs:

- Knowledge of paperless document management programs.
- Must have experience with Sage MAS 90/100 application or other ERP application administration experience.
- Must have Crystal Reports design, modification or other report writing experience.
- Office 2007, 2013, and newer experience.
- iOS experience a plus.
- VoIP Phone system, Call Center, Call Recording Administration experience a plus.
- Support Helpdesk ticket system experience a plus.
- Remote Desktop server support.
- WordPress administration, customization and support a plus.
- VMWare - VSphere Client software experience a plus.
- Windows Server 2012 experience a plus.
- Exchange 2013 experience a plus.
- Domain controller experience a plus.
- Roadnet experience is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from four-year college/university or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology.
- Software development abilities preferred. 
- Strong problem solving and communication skills required. 
- Must be able to handle a high level of stress and be approachable to team members.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Evenings and weekends required if problems arise.
- The following certificates are preferred but not required; Microsoft Certification, VMWare Certification.
- Must pass company background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures fluctuate.
- Must be able to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
